Recreational Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at twistandflip@shaw.ca if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our Facility is located in Redcliff, Alberta at 218 – 3 Street NE. We have AIR CONDITIONING to keep us cool in our warm summer months.

Our classes run in 4 separate seasons.

Fall – September to December (13 weeks)

Winter – January to March (10 to 11 weeks)

Spring – April to June (9 to 11 weeks)

-Our Summer Camp season is offered in July and August. There are 7 themed weeks throughout the summer. Full days, Half days, and Before and After care are offered.

We use UPLIFTER for our pre-school and recreational programs. Registration is open 3 to 4 months before the start of a session. The class fee, membership and insurance fees, and processing fees are due at the time of registration. Depending on when you register, installment options are available to help break up the cost of the activity. The ‘full payment’ option is the default on an invoice. If installments are available, a drop-down menu option will allow you to choose ‘installments’ if you prefer. Regardless of what option you choose, the total invoice is paid before the first class in a session.

Registration :: Registration :: Twist & Flip Gymnastics Inc.

We do accept Jumpstart and Kidsport. You will register online with us and pay the invoice. We recommend that you choose the “installment payment option” if available as this will require less up-front costs for you. When we receive funds for your child for their class, we will refund you the amount of funding received. If you are applying for these funding options, please let us know if you are approved and we can let you know when we receive the funds.

If a class you wish to register your child for is full, you can add them to the waitlist in your UPLIFTER account by clicking on the “Join waitlist” button next to the class name. If a spot in the class becomes available, you will be informed by email and given 24 hours to register. If you have not registered or called, you will be removed from the list and we will open to the next person on the list. By adding your child to a waitlist, it also provides information to the club so we may be able to open a second class or increase spots for that class.

If you would like to pay cash, debit, or e-transfer, you may come into the gym to do so. An UPLIFTER account must be created in advance and you need to add your child as a participant on your account.

A $30 administrative fee is charged for in-person or over the phone registration completed by office personnel. You will have to log in to your UPLIFTER account to accept your child’s PIPA and Liability policies once registration is complete.

To comply with Alberta Gymnastics Federation, a mandatory insurance and membership fee and a small T&F membership fee is charged to each athlete, valid from July 1 to June 30. This fee is charged every year for classes that start after July 1. The fees are not pro-rated. If a child is only in a summer program, a discounted fee is charged but a top-up will be paid when registering in one of the Fall, Winter, or Spring sessions.

These fees are added to invoices at time of checkout.

All class prices are listed on the UPLIFTER registration page next to the class. GST will be added to all class prices.

Processing fees are 4.5% of the sum of an invoice and are added to all invoices. These fees are NEVER refundable.

Our refund policies for Fall, Winter, Spring are the same. Camp policies differ depending on the start date of the camp.  All policies are in the “IMPORTANT INFORMATION” section in UPLIFTER in the season you are registering in and are also printed on the bottom of your invoice. Please be sure to read this information before registering.

Withdrawal for medical reasons will be available at any time but must be accompanied with a valid doctor’s note at time of request. Please be sure to provide the doctor’s note when requesting a medical withdrawal from a class. A refund or credit on file will be provided for the remaining classes in the session less the $30 administrative fee.

NO credits, refunds, or make-up days are given for missed classes or days for any reason.

NO credits or refunds are given for insurance fees, membership fees, or processing fees at any time. They are all non-refundable.

If a refund or credit is given, a $30 administrative fee will be charged.

Twist & Flip Gymnastics reserves the right to cancel or change a class and/or coach based on enrollment and staff availability. If we cancel a class entirely, a full refund will be provided if we are unable to move you to a different day and time. There is no administrative fee charged if it is the club that is required to cancel or change a class.

Class transfers can be requested 30 days before the start of a session. An administrative fee of $30 per class per athlete will be charged. Transfers are at the club’s discretion and are subject to availability and/or class size. Please email the club to request a transfer.

We do not offer trial classes.

We offer Bring-a-friend day on the last day of a session if you know anyone registered in one of our classes.

Children in our Pre-school classes (ages 5 and younger) can wear comfortable clothing such as shorts, leggings, and tucked-in or fitted t-shirts. One piece body suits are not required but are recommended. Clothing should not have buttons, zippers, ties, hoods, or anything that can catch on equipment or injure a gymnast during a lesson.

Girls 6 years and older require a one-piece bodysuit; shorts or leggings can be worn over the bodysuit as well. Boys can wear a singlet with shorts or shorts and a fitted, tucked-in t-shirt. Clothing should not have buttons, zippers, ties, hoods, or anything that can catch on equipment or injure a gymnast during a lesson.

We do have bodysuits at the club for purchase.

Bare feet is the safest and only accepted footwear. If your child has any medical concerns on his/her feet, ie-plantar warts or open sores then athletic tape must be worn.

All jewelry must be removed; stud earrings are acceptable.

Hair must be secured back off the face and neck with elastics, barrettes or clips.  Longer hair requires a braid or a lower pony in the back; high ponytails interfere with skills such as somersaults.

No need to arrive earlier than 10 minutes before a class.

If possible, please arrive for class in your gym attire.

All parents must bring their child into the gym to drop them off and pick them up.

Please bring a water bottle labelled with your child's name.  No liquid besides water is allowed in the gym area.

All children's shoes and socks will be removed and left on the shelves at the front entrance;  adults can keep their socks on but are required to remove their shoes as well.

NO Shoes for anyone are allowed past the front entrance.

Once in the gym area, children will wait on the white benches against the wall until a Coach calls them to the floor.  Children are not allowed to play on equipment or be on the gym floor before a Coach calls them to the floor.

For classes that are non-parented (ages 5 and older), family members are able to watch the class from our upstairs Mezzanine area.

Yes, everyone who participates in a class or any program in the gym are required to complete a PIPA form and a LIABILITY waiver.

When a child is registered in a class, a parent/guardian completes the waivers (in UPLIFTER) for the child before the registration is completed.

Parents, guardians, or other adults who will be in a class with their child are required to complete the online ADULT  waivers before coming to class.  The links to these forms are on the bottom of the HOMEPAGE of our website.

These forms are required annually after July 1 and are valid until June 30 of the next year.

Forms are valid for the gym where they are completed and are not transferrable to other gyms.

Yes! Please check our website for class information and ages for all our classes.

Due to Coach to Participant ratios and a very full schedule, we do not offer makeup classes.

If you know your child will be absent from class, please email the club at twistandflip@shaw.ca if possible.

Please call the club if you are running late to pick up your child.

Remember, you must come into the gym to get your child when you arrive.

If you have a question that isn't listed here, please email the club at twistandflip@shaw.ca or call the office at  403-487-5867.
